News from the Netherlands is an exhibition introducing Netherlands's architecture and design also searching design methods with its background. Instead of just listing brilliant results, tries to find what new value that Dutch design wants to tell to the world is through its society cultural background and liberal arts studying.
The exhibition is organized with five sections. Architectural section showing new possibilities by extension different space on existing building: 'FE:USE', Design section suggesting new thinking and method of it through observation of human behavior: 'RE:MIND', Infographic section presenting visualized the meaning of 'statistics' intrinsic in Netherlands's society and culture overall. Participatory exhibit that visitors make new messages themselves by collecting and organizing postcards of typographic includes contents of exhibition: 'RE:NEW' and Section people can search works that was not included in this exhibition such as the history of Dutch architecture for the last two decades: 'RE:MARK'
«네덜란드에서 온 새로운 메시지»는 세계적으로 주목받는 네덜란드의 건축과 디자인을 소개하고, 배경에 놓인 디자인 방법론을 살펴보는 전시이다. 전시의 기획은 화려한 결과물을 나열하기 보다는 사회문화적 배경과 인문학적 고찰을 통해 네덜란드 디자인이 세상에 전하는 새로운 가치가 무엇인지 알아보고자한다.
전시는 총 5개의 섹션으로 구성된다. 기존 건축물에 다른 공간을 증축하여 새로운 가능성을 보여주는 건축 섹션 FE:USE, 인간 행동에 대한 관찰을 통해 새로운 생각과 방법을 제시하는 디자인 섹션 RE:MIND, 네덜란드, 사회, 문화 전반에 내재된 '통계'의 의미를 시각화해 보여주는 인포그래픽으로 구성된 RE:SEARCH, 전시내용을 담은 엽서 형태의 타이포그래피 작업을 관람객이 직접 모으고 구성해 새로운 메시지를 만드는 체험형 프로그램 RE:NEW, 그리고 지난 20년간 네덜란드 건축 연감을 비롯해 전시에 포함되지 못한 작품들을 탐색해 볼 수 있는 RE:MARK.
