The collaboration with dancers Kwak Go Eun, Gong Young Sun and architects SoA starts from an optimistic prospect believing that dance and architecture are alternated. For this, we decided to select 'clothes' which is the third medium between our body and architecture. During dancing wearing gelatin before it cools, it became the middle stage of body and clothes likes sets into shape of the body or winkles following the movement of body. Hardened gelatin can't function as a clothes but it becomes a solid small pavilion. As performance goes, people can keep watching the changing of it into three different conditions which is neither a body, clothes nor an architecture.
This performance is planned on the occasion of the exhibition SeMA Green: Kim Gu Lim, Like You Know It All.
무용수 곽고은, 공영선과 건축가인 우리의 협업은 “잘 알지도 못하면서” 춤과 건축은 교호한다고 믿는 낙관적 전망에서 시작한다. 이를 위해 우리는 몸과 건축의 사이에 존재하는 ‘옷’이라는 제 3의 매개체를 설정하였다. 굳기 전의 젤라틴을 몸에 입고 움직이는 동안 표면은 몸의 형상이 되기도 하고 움직임에 주름이 잡히기도 하는 등 몸과 옷의 중간 단계가 되고, 굳어진 젤라틴은 더 이상 옷의 기능을 할 수 없는 단단한 소형 파빌리온이 된다. 공연이 진행되면서 몸도, 옷도 건축도 아닌 세 가지의 상태로 계속 변이하는 과정을 관찰하게끔 구성되었다.
본 공연은 «SeMA Green 김구림: 잘 알지도 못하면서»전의 일환으로 기획되었다.
